Self Controlled Investment Group Meets Successful
Self Controlled Investment Group Meets Where do doctors, lawyers,
and industry chiefs meet to discuss and decide what to do
with their money? One good answer seemed to be Delray Beach
Florida at the recent Hannaian summer 2000 Investment
Retreat and Conference, where affiliates of the Hannaian
Business Network gathered from around the U.S. and the
Caribbean. The meeting was held where Palm Beach County's
prestigious residential ocean front strip intersects with
the newly famous Atlantic Ave. entertainment and shopping
strip. The highly successful three year old investment
research and publishing group met to brainstorm and learn
about the latest techniques for self controlled investing.
What is more surprising than the success of the group is
that it is primarily comprised of African American
professionals who are now enjoying the benefits of success
in the stock markets, which traditionally has not been a
strong area for African Americans. The system used by the group
was developed over the past three years and produced
averaged returns of over 600% through 1999. The Hannaian
Intellectual property stock research & Investments
system (H.I.P.S.) was specifically designed to allow small
budget non-institutional investors to participate
effectively in the public markets. The group operates as an
investment research and publishing enterprise run by the
Internet publishing company Hannaian Publishing at
www.hannaian.com. At the three day conference in Delray
Beach the program combined many hours of intense training
with local celebrations of the growing Roots Festival in the
City, and with sessions on International trade sponsored by
the non-profit organization, The council for the Advancement
for Minority Business Internationally. The group presented its
first ever Hannaian awards to Sir Arlington Butler recent
ambassador from the Bahamas to the U.S, and Harvey Poole
Sr., the longest running on air African American radio
personality and broadcaster. Sir Arlington received the
Hannaian Lifetime of Empowerment Award for his years of
public service in the parliament of the Bahamas and his
involvement with international affairs in the British
Commonwealth. Mr. Poole received the Hannaian Distinguished
Pioneer Award for his outstanding pioneering service as an
important radio broadcasting voice since 1945, continuously
running on Sugar 900 AM in the South Florida area since
1947. Several local city and
county officials welcomed the group to the area, and during
the conference the group received the key to the City of
Delray Beach. In addition, investment opportunities from
several major private projects in the pre-IPO stage were
pitched to the group. The group's research and investments
are primarily centered around the acquisition of
intellectual properties. This factor, combined with a highly
structured program, a proprietary stock rating system, and
sophisticated Internet communication and trading processes
has been credited for the group's success.
Also recognized during the ceremonies was Mr. Harvey
Poole Sr., distinguished citizen of Belle Glade, Florida who
was honored with the Hannaian Distinguished Pioneer Award
for his invaluable contribution to the Broadcasting Industry
in the Untied States. Mr. Poole is the longest running,
continuously on air African-American radio personality and
broadcaster in the U.S., delighting and enlightening
audiences since 1945. The Distinguished Pioneer award was
established to honor those who have paved the way for
generations of others in their particular field of
expertise. During his many years as a radio personality and
broadcaster Mr. Poole has participated significantly in
almost every aspect of life in the Glades. His far-reaching
broadcasts have become well known throughout South Florida
and the Bahamas. His pioneering ways also paved the way for
his son Harvey Poole Jr. to follow in his footsteps, the
junior Mr. Poole also having achieved much success in the
broadcasting industry. Mr. Poole can still be heard on WSWN,
Sugar 900 A.M. in the South Florida area. Several local and county officials participated in the
ceremonies and Chair of the Palm Beach County Commission
Maude Ford Lee and Martin County Commissioner Elmira Gainey
presented Sir Arlington and Mr. Poole with commendations. At
the conference Dr. Harlington L. Hanna, Jr., president and
CEO of Hannaian USA Corp. was presented with the Key to the
City by Delray Beach City Commissioner Alberta Perry-
McCarthy. The awards were presented during the Hannaian Summer 2000
Investment Retreat & Conference in conjunction with the
C.A.M.B.I. International Trade Seminar. The Hannaian
Business Network, primary sponsor of the event is an
investment research and publishing group involved in the
acquisition of valuable intellectual properties and in the
education and economic empowerment of disadvantaged
communities. The affiliates comprise individuals and
businesses throughout the United States and Caribbean who
collaborate on investment and economic opportunities and
issues. The conference was held in Delray Beach, Florida
June 9-11, 2000 and was attended by affiliates of the
Network from around the Untied States and the Caribbean. The
Network can be accessed at www.hannaian.com In attendance at the Hannaian Delray 2000 Conference was
Sir Arlington G. Butler, recent Bahamian Ambassador to the
United States, who received the Hannaian Lifetime of
Empowerment Award, for his service in education, law and
government. Also recognized was Mr. Harvey Poole Sr.,
distinguished citizen of BelleGlade, Florida who was honored

contribution to the Broadcasting Industry. Mr. Poole, is the

broadcaster, delighting and enlightening audiences since
1945. Mr. Poole can still be heard on WSWN, Sugar 900 A.M.
in the South Florida area The Hannaian Business Network has a steadily growing
membership across the United States and the Caribbean, and

several times annually. The Network can be accessed at

the CAMBI International Trade Summit, and featured as a part
of the local Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration. The Hannaian Delray 2000 conference was co-sponsored by
the Council for the Advancement of Minority Business
Internationally (C.A.M.B.I.), a non- profit entity geared
toward fostering trade and economic relationships between
foreign enterprises and U.S. minority business
communities. Article

New Website Format
launched
Monday,
November 8, 1999
The Hannaian Publishing Website at http://www.hannaian.com
recently made another major format change. The change is
designed to provide a more functional interface and focus
more on those areas and activities demanding more coverage.
The big winner in the new format is an increase presence for
the finance and investment activities, with more coverage
particularly on the public acquisitions of Intellectual
Properties. The big loser is the travel related activities
which have been fully tabled until a full revamping these
activities can be accomplished. The revised interface
provides for a simplified menu with a strong site search
facility. In addition the addition o broad news availability
and special Hannaian news section can be accessed directly
from the home page. Content on the Home page is now limited
to the new investment editorial broadcast "Playing The Right
Ball Game". The newly designed home page also is faster
loading and allows faster access to visitors.

Movement Towards Total Internet Based Publishing &
Communications
Monday,
November 8, 1999
The Hannaian Business Network recently began the process of
providing most of the business support materials previously
provided in hard copy in a new downloadable format through
the Publisher Online Resource Center. This move takes the
Network a major step forward in making its infrastructure
totally Internet based. Hannaian Publishing parent Company
of the Network has been urging members and affiliates to
utilize the vast resources of its website and the Internet
in general to facilitate the conduct of their businesses. As
the world turns into an Internet based communications and
e-commerce center all entrepreneurs will be significantly
impacted by these changes. As a leading proponent of the
recognition of intellectual properties in the modern global
economy Hannaian Publishing will continually move towards an
all Internet based infrastructure and format. The Network
has asked all its affiliated members to be online or have
access to the Internet. With further moves toward a total
Internet infrastructure those members without access to the
Internet will be at a significant competitive
disadvantage.
The provision of the business support materials through the
Publisher Resource Center allows for more efficient updating
and faster delivery of these materials to Publisher members.
In addition it allows review and downloading of the required
materials on an as needed basis preventing members from
having to stockpile most of these materials.
