Dr. Benjamin Tynes came to the Bahamas via Bermuda where he settled forapproximately three months and engaged in private practice; but as he didnot like the Island, he emigrated to the Bahamas in search of greenerpstures. It should be noted that he like other loyalists who refused tofight against the mother country (England) during the American War ofIndependence, found it necessary to seek a home outside of the UnitedStates of America. His Sister Juliana Tynes-Pinder married WilliamThompson-Pinder, but unfortunately no facts concerning her offspring havebeen made available to date. dr. Tynes was a member of the BahamainHouse of Parliament. 1
